  • PacketFabric Joins DE-CIX’s R3 Global Partner Program as First Reseller
DateMay 27, 2024

DE-CIX, a global leader in Internet Exchange (IX) operations, and Network as a Service (NaaS) provider PacketFabric have announced an extension of their strategic partnership. Under this new agreement, PacketFabric becomes the first reseller to join DE-CIX’s newly launched R3 Partner Program. This development would enhance PacketFabric’s existing role as DE-CIX’s first Reach Partner in North America and expand their service offerings to include active reselling with a global scope.

This partnership allows US-based customers to access DE-CIX’s interconnection platforms in major cities such as New York, Dallas, Chicago, Richmond, Phoenix, and Seattle. These services will now be available from PacketFabric’s extensive network of over 250 access points across North America, bringing high-performance interconnection services closer to businesses and their customers, thereby reducing latency.

Through this partnership, PacketFabric’s customers will also gain access to markets in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia via DE-CIX’s expansive footprint of more than 50 Internet and Cloud Exchanges globally. The collaboration would effectively combine the strengths of both operators, offering a comprehensive solution to enterprise connectivity needs.

Ivo Ivanov, CEO of DE-CIX, highlighted PacketFabric‘s pivotal role in extending DE-CIX’s reach in North America. He stated, “PacketFabric has played a central role in extending the reach of the DE-CIX Internet and Cloud Exchanges in New York, Dallas, and Chicago over the years, remotely connecting customers to our platforms. We are delighted to extend this partnership and welcome PacketFabric as a valuable reseller in the US market. The combined footprint of DE-CIX’s platforms and PacketFabric’s SDN network, both in the US and globally, enables enterprise customers to build the network they need and ensure high-performance, low-latency connectivity to partner networks and clouds to power their business success.”

Improving Network Performance for Enterprises

The partnership would significantly enhance the interconnection capacity available to DE-CIX customers, providing nearly a terabyte of interconnection capacity on PacketFabric’s global network with plans to double this capacity in the long term. This expansion aims to facilitate faster connections to more locations than any other NaaS provider can offer.

Vincent English, CEO of PacketFabric, emphasized the strategic importance of this partnership. “DE-CIX has long been a key interconnection partner on PacketFabric’s Network as a Service platform. By offering our customers access to DE-CIX’s exchanges in EMEA, global enterprises can easily connect their infrastructure to leading cloud providers, carriers, and other services to improve network performance. Expanding access to DE-CIX to the rest of PacketFabric‘s North American locations will give our joint customers many more locations to interconnect on our private, carrier-grade network.”

DE-CIX North America, which began operations in 2014, is a wholly owned subsidiary of DE-CIX International AG, one of the world’s leading Internet Exchange operators. DE-CIX’s North American ecosystem includes Internet Exchanges in New York, Dallas, Chicago, Richmond, and Phoenix, along with a dedicated Cloud Exchange in Seattle. This network creates the largest neutral interconnection ecosystem in North America. DE-CIX provides network and data center-neutral peering and interconnection services, giving customers enhanced control over their networks and access to top-tier content and cloud providers. Additionally, DE-CIX offers IP transit, Virtual Private Network (VPN), and Blackholing services to mitigate the effects of DDoS attacks.
