  • Trend Micro to Unveil AI-Powered Data Center Security at COMPUTEX 2024
DateJun 2, 2024

Trend Micro, a global leader in cybersecurity solutions, is set to unveil a groundbreaking data center security solution at COMPUTEX 2024 this week, leveraging advanced NVIDIA technology. This initiative is aimed at enhancing security for businesses and government entities utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) in their operations.

The new solution, one among several AI security innovations being showcased, underscores Trend Micro’s commitment to providing robust security measures in the era of AI.

The centerpiece of this announcement is Trend Vision One – Sovereign and Private Cloud (SPC), a solution that integrates seamlessly with NVIDIA’s NIM, a suite of inference microservices that are part of the NVIDIA AI Enterprise software platform. This integration is designed to facilitate the rapid deployment of generative AI across various environments including clouds, data centers, and workstations.

Eva Chen, CEO of Trend Micro, emphasized the practical applications of this integration, stating, “While many in the industry are claiming advancements in AI security, we’re out showing business-critical use cases. The integration of NVIDIA NIM with our Vision One Sovereign and Private Cloud brings the power needed for this entire infrastructure change ahead as companies worldwide adopt generative AI.”

Pat Lee, Vice President of Strategic Enterprise Partnerships at NVIDIA, highlighted the strategic importance of integrating security into AI applications. “Leading companies recognize the importance of deploying generative AI in diverse environments, including sovereign private clouds, and are developing strategies for integrating security into their AI applications. Trend Micro’s NVIDIA NIM integration showcases how companies can use generative AI to enhance the security of their customers’ environments across a broad range of enterprise infrastructure.”

The new solution is poised to meet the escalating demands of government and private sector organizations eager to leverage AI in their on-premises data centers. These organizations aim to boost worker productivity and develop innovative AI-powered user experiences. However, such investments also bring an increased risk of expanding the attack surface.

Growing Interest in Private Clouds

Frank Dickson, Group Vice President at IDC, pointed out the growing interest in private clouds. “Governments, MSPs, and large enterprises are increasingly looking to private clouds to alleviate regulatory and national security concerns. Their ability to do so without compromising on performance could be a major tipping point in the mass adoption of AI services worldwide.”

Trend Micro’s solution addresses these concerns by providing a robust security platform optimized with NVIDIA NIM’s AI inferencing microservices. This setup enhances data privacy, facilitates real-time analysis, and enables rapid threat mitigation. By avoiding inline inspection on traffic, the solution minimizes high CPU computing power consumption and latency, ensuring seamless operation and maximizing the efficiency of both security and AI processes.

Furthermore, Trend Vision One – SPC integrates with NVIDIA’s DOCA App Shield API, which monitors app processes and continuously validates their integrity, thereby bolstering the platform’s ability to detect and mitigate malicious activity. Additionally, the integration with NVIDIA’s Morpheus development framework, part of NVIDIA AI Enterprise, empowers the system to analyze large volumes of data in real-time for faster threat detection. This significantly enhances the capabilities of human analysts through the application of generative AI, ensuring optimal efficiency.

Trend Micro‘s innovative approach to securing AI-enabled private data centers would represent a significant advancement in the cybersecurity landscape. By harnessing the power of NVIDIA’s cutting-edge technology, Trend Micro aims to set a new standard for data center security, addressing the complexities of next-generation AI-driven environments and providing efficient threat detection and response capabilities.
